From America

Dear friends and family,

Here is another short ministry update! The Dietrich family is currently in southern Minnesota awaiting the imminent birth of our third child, due in a couple of weeks. While Melody became ill with malaria shortly after arriving in America, we praise God that she was healed in answer to the prayers of many people and we are expecting a healthy baby girl.

In the meantime, we have been enjoying a change of environment. People have blessed us with loads of garden produce, and we are thankful to have such a variety of good foods to eat. It is nice to enjoy foods we don't really get in Chad such as broccoli, brussel sprouts, cantaloupe melon, peas, apples, grapes, etc. America is truly a very blessed nation in the food category.

I (Jonathan) have been continuing work with the publishing ministry. We just purchased several inexpensive laptops for translation/typing work and will be setting them up with a Linux operating system to help us as we expect our translation work to increase over time. I have also been researching translation software that may be able to help us accelerate our work there. We have also been moving forward with layout and design projects and development of materials.

Accomplishing certain projects in Chad seems nearly impossible. Being the director of the project and serving as district pastor means we are normally super busy. Everything seems important, and everything takes time. Church meetings, seeing visitors, broken water tanks, malfunctioning pumps, vehicle maintenance, managing the printshop and training workers, helping the numerous needy people that beg at our gate, preaching at the churches, the list goes on and on. It has been nice to have a break which as allowed me to focus and spend time on other projects that had been postponed indefinitely. Please pray for us during our time in America, that our baby will be in good health and that we will progress well on the publishing ministry.

Keith Mosier and his family are continuing ministry in Chad while we are away. Keith just finished a series of evangelism meetings in Bere. Stay tuned for an exciting report from the Mosier family soon! Please pray for the Mosier family. Especially pray for health, as malaria has been menacing them too much lately.

We appreciate all of you who have been faithfully praying and supporting our ministry.

In His service,
Jonathan, Melody, Gideon and Liliana Dietrich
